**** 06-04-2009 Release ****

The Florida Divisional Dirt Series needs the help of its racers.  This is a racers series, and with the help of the racers it can be big again. The series is commited to running the 2009 series in its entirety,  however series President Mike Hunter would like ideas from the participants on how to improve the series.  As stated during the drivers meeting at the first race, Mike is open to any and all ideas to help grow the FDDS series.  He has asked that any recommendations be presented directly to him.  He can be reached by phone at (386) 804-7450 or by email at mhunter34@cfl.rr.com.

 05-13-2009 BOX STOCK UPDATE:

Box Stock classes will be allowed to run the following tires: Vega, Maxxis and Hoosier There have also been Lite (330), Medium (350) and Heavy (375) classes added. All classes are money classes as described below.

Press release 2-20-09 FDDS:

The Florida Divisional Dirt Series, the state series sanctioned by the World Karting Association, has announced that they will be adding the clone box stock as a local option class. This class will run with the AKRA rules established for clones and include the yellow and blue motors. The tire rule will be the Vega, Maxis or Hoosier.  This class will not be running for end of the year awards or points, but will be a money paying class at each event.

Each registration will have $25 put into a payout fund, to be distributed as follows: 35% to first place, 25% to second place, 20% to third place, 10% to fourth place and 10% to the finishing place drawn out of a hat by the winner from 5th thru the end of the field. That means even the last place finisher has the chance to win 10% of the payout.

"Obviously, with today's economy we are all trying to reduce costs as much as possible. With the clone box stock class, the expense of racing is reduced greatly. Hopefully, this will allow those of us on the verge of dropping out of racing due to cost to keep participating" said Mike Hunter, President of FDDS.

The FDDS series will hold their opening race at Volusia Speedway Park on Feb 28, 2009. VSP is located 15 miles west of Ormond Beach on highway 40. Qualifying will start around noon on the 28th with 20 lap features to follow.
